Elevation: 2743 meters (9,000 feet). Distance: 15 km (9 miles) Birmoglasht or Plain of Walnut Trees is some 15 km from main town of Chitral and is easily accessible through half an hour jeep drive.It is also commonly known as Summer Palace as it used to be occupied during the summer time by the ex-rulers of Chitral. Birmoglasht offers a fine view of Trich Mir, Bunizom and other snow-clad peaks of Hindukush Ranges.

The Kalash or Kalasha, are indigenous people of the Hindu Kush mountain range, residing in the Chitral. They speak the Kalash language,They have unique Culture Traditions and Festivals.

Bumburet is 40 Km from Chitral.

About 34 Km southwest of Chitral is the narrow valley of Birir, where the Kalash community is gathered together. The main village known as Guru is perched on the hillside which is steep and narrow.

Shandur is often called the 'Roof of the World'.The world famous Shandur pass is a bout 3738 meter an above sea level and lies midway between Chitral and Gilgit. The distance from Chitral is 147 Km and Gilgit is about 211Km.Shandur Pass is one of the major mountain passes between Chital and Gilgit-Baltistan.the traditional polo tournament played between Chitral and Gilgit teams in the month of July.

Qaqlasht

The 4-day long annual Qaqlast Festival concluded at the natural ground of Qaqlasht, some 80KM from Chitral city. It has been celebrated for centuries, each year .More than 60 sporting teams participated in a variety of games including Cricket, Football, Vallyball, Polo, Hocky (Ghaluzchun Ghal), Sia-Khaman, Falconry and Tug-of-war.The purpose of the festival is to revive the old-age cultural heritage of the people of Chitral.
